FLOOR
AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1.
Removes
the provision requiring JLBC's approval on a contract for the statewide
assessment.
2.
Requires
the State Board of Education to direct the Department of Education to issue a
request for proposals to contract with a provider for the purchase of a
statewide assessment by December 31, 2018.
3.
Requires
the Department of Education to provide adequate staff to the State Board of
Education for the adoption of the menu of assessments.
4.
Specifies
that the Department, rather than the State Board, provide the required
information to JLBC and renew or establish assessment contracts.
